Dr. Shea Holt and team are wonderful to work with. My dad can be a lot, but at our first appointment they were amazing. Mandy is an exceptional healthcare provider. Dr. Holt saw my dad in the hospital and made a great impression. My dad said, “She is going to be my new doctor. I don’t know what she does but I like her”. She left her card and here we are. They even called while he was in rehab to ensure he followed up with her on his release.
It is literally like pulling teeth to get an appointment here. Doctors are booked out over a month and they do not accept any sort of walk in service or allow you to see another doctor without a “pre-visit.” I have unfortunately used them sparingly in the last two years since moving because they were the nearest. Then my doctor that I was originally going to left the clinic (not that they were helpful they literally would only refer me to a specialist place who would then never call then I’d have to find someone on my own) and I had to schedule a new patient appointment with a different doctor and do labs. The doctor never discussed the lab results with me or sent a mychart message. Absolutely no communication. I’ve sent them multiple mychart messages and nothing ever gets answered. I tried to get some sort of walk-in appointment today to discuss a medical matter. The receptionist rolled her eyes when I told her my concern, got no additional information from me or consulted with anyone else. Her request was I go spend $250 at the ER for a copay, then pay my $2000 deductible for said ER visit. When I explained financially can’t do that today the suggestion was go to an urgent care. Again, this place gives no resolve or attention to patients or even bothers gathering additional information to try to help a patient’s situation. My recommendation is go to another primary care in the area that shows an ounce of care and concern for patients.
The best of the best. I completely trust Dr. King, the PAs, and the staff at Texas Family Health Care. Great communication and follow through. The lab tech, Nicole, is gentle and accurate. She's great. (For anyone who has frequent blood draws, you know how important that is!)
As a new patient of Dr. Barker, I was thoroughly impressed at the time, effort, patience, and commitment he demonstrated during my initial visit. After introducing him himself to me, he inquired about my medical history, listened to any medical Issues I had and then suggested several treatment options. We discussed those options in detail and arrived at a mutual treatment plan. Based on my initial visit, I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Barker’s medical knowledge and commitment to provide the highest quality care possible. Dr Barker and his nurse and other staff are top tier in health care. They were professional but very detail oriented and I never felt rushed or just one of many patients. Highly recommend this practice.
