He was my doctor for a few years. The last time I went in to see him, I asked him for advice about a medicine. I wanted to know if I could stop taking a medicine because it wasn't working like it had before. He flipped his lid. I was scared. He acted very frustrated, grabbed his little computer stand, started jerking it around. He left the room in a huff. I was bewildered. He asked me no questions and gave no verbal response. He reentered the room still manhandling the computer stand and had an office worker with him. She looked just as confused as I felt. He began to berate me for asking him instead of another doctor and told me he can't be every doctor for me. I told him I was unaware that I needed to go speak with another doctor and asked if he could recommend one. He told me to ask my insurance company. Then he left the room in a huff again. It was very unprofessional. I don't know why I triggered such a power trip in him, but I know I will never feel comfortable asking him any questions or being in a room with him alone. I have a new doctor that treats me well and doesn't mind answering my questions or giving me guidance about my health. I emailed the person that responded to my review. ★ 4.2 · 104 reviewsUpdate: I added a star because I had no idea that Dr. Tolle's office did try to get the medication he prescribed to me approved by my insurance company. Working in medical insurance, I know that the prior authorization process is not always the easiest thing to do and I definitely appreciate any provider and their staff that puts in the extra time to do a prior authorization. Thank you, Dr. Tolle and kind staff! Bring a book or make sure your phone is charged so you have something to do for the long wait. Check-in staff was nice, medical assistant Janay was nice and kind, I thought Dr. Tolle was a nice doctor, too, but overall it was the longest wait time I've ever had in a doctor's office in a long time. They tell you to arrive early, so I expect that everything is running on time. I was disappointed to find out that Dr. Tolle doesn't prescribe a medication that I've been taking for a while with no side effects and can afford, but instead prescribes a very expensive medication that is next to impossible to get covered by insurance. I talked to other patients in the waiting area and they said they had good experiences and like Dr. Tolle, I guess I should've asked if he would prescribe my medicine before the appointment and I could've cancelled and found another provider. I did like that he did a test I've been needing and was happy to be able to discuss the results on the same day.
Went for a routine annual check up. I asked about refilling prescriptions, but he criticized my usage of some meds that was previously prescribed by another specialist. I asked him to clarify this stance, but he got weirdly defensive and brash with me, despite me being completely calm and just curious of his reasoning. I brought up a couple other concerns too, that he ordered tests for. However, I wish he was more transparent about the cost of these tests, especially because I am not in a great financial situation to pay it. I would've opted out of the tests had I known and never brought up the concern. I don't doubt his competence, but with such a weird and sudden outburst, I definitely will never recommend him to any of my friends or family.
Dr. Tolle is an extremely thorough and kind Primary Care Physician that makes his patients feel valued, at ease, and taken care of at each visit. Highly Recommend!
Recently had to switch primary doctors and Dr. Tolle is awesome. He spent time to answer all of my questions and is just an all around nice guy
