I was here yesterday and I don't understand the bad reviews on here? To be honest this is one of the better clinics in San Antonio with a very helpful staff. I come here periodically for my bad arthritis so I should know! The parking lot is always clear of trash, even the bus stop by the street is clean and nice! There is never scary looking people in parked cars like I've seen at other clinics. This office has a huge lobby that also plays movies on a TV for patients. As an added plus you can even bring family or friends to accompany you in the lobby, lot's of comfortable seats. There's a coffee machine and a vending machine as well. Reception is patient and will have you feeling more like a person than a "number". Only bad thing about this office is that there's not enough caring doctors and clinics like this in S.A.! Across the street is a shopping center and plenty of restaurants to get lost at in a good way. I appreciate this place because it truly is a gem.

I've been a patient with Dr. Velasquez for years now and due to some sort of mix up, I'm apparently being dropped as a patient. I've never been rude, cursed over the phone or been belligerent to the office staff, and apparently after my last appointment in July, when I had paperwork done for a reasonable accomodation request for my job, it was noted that I hung up rudely over the phone and said I was dissatisfied with my care here, that I would be finding another provider, and as such they dropped me as a patient. I never made any such comment, and after asking Rosie to speak with the office manager and to hear the recorded phone call (since she wanted to flaunt that all calls are recorded and monitored), she refused. It doesn't make any sense that I would be dissatisfied with my care after paying out of pocket $180 plus an additional $50 for accomodations paperwork for my job. I've never had a problem with my care here. I have no idea what these people are talking about. Now, after being with this office for years, I'm having to find a new provider. If someone wants to reach out with an actual explanation to what's going on that would be fantastic because I have no idea what in the world is going on. I've paid out of pocket to continue seeing this doctor because I like him, even though the wait times in the office are always extremely long and his prices are higher than other providers when paying out of pocket. Unless someone reaches out to explain what the heck is going on, I'd say don't waste your time and find a doctor with office staff that won't get information crossed with the wrong patients. Rosie was also incredibly rude over the phone and yelled at me to stop cursing at her, when I literally never uttered a curse word. All I said was "this is so bizarre, I literally have no idea what you're talking about about." Completely unprofessional. Wouldn't give me a managers name or phone number either so we can figure out what happened.
Apparently my last review was removed, so here I am again. My last review stated that this is a horrible facility with rude staff stemming from the Dr. Velasquez who is in the business of writing prescriptions and not treating/helping people. I paid good money to have a physical done and he wouldn't read the results of the blood work unless I paid the $100 dollar fee which I did thus involved him coming in the room for under 5 minutes to glance at the paperwork and say everything is in order. When wanting to discuss the concerns he wanted me to pay for another visit.
I love coming here! This clinic is unlike any other. Dr Velasquez and his PA have a great bedside manner- he listens and understands and is very thorough. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating and convenient. I have referred my family and friends here as well and have also had a great experience. If your looking for a family doctor I strongly recommend you try them, you can see for yourself ! :)
I liked Dr. Velasquez, and had been going to him for quite some time even after I had to move out of town… But I will no longer be going back. His front office staff is VERY unprofessional and extremely rude! Whenever I would call, I would either get put on long holds (10+ minutes) and they would forget I was on hold, or they would have an attitude and talk to me like I was wasting their time. On multiple occasions I’d call in and they would say the nurse or doctor was out and would tell me they’d call back before end of day and they NEVER did. I recently got insurance again and called to ask some questions about setting up an appointment and the woman who answered kept cutting me off when I would try talking and sounded like she was trying to hurry up and get me off the phone. They should retrain their staff on how to talk to patients or hire new people. It’s a shame that a good doctor has such an impolite and discourteous staff.
