I have been through so many primary care physicians I can't even remember them all. They keep dropping out of network, moving away or retiring from practicing. I finally found a facility that has been in network since my insurance coverage began. Premier Family Physicians and Dr. Cooper Hale specifically. I suffer from dyspnea which is a horrible breathing affliction that makes it feel like you're suffocating when you're getting plenty of oxygen. Unfortunately before we got a handle on the dyspnea I was given a cancer diagnosis. The dyspnea is on the back burner now and we're focusing on my cancer treatment. Referred to Dr. Chadha I'm happy to say my cancer is deminishing with every chemotherapy infusion. I started with a PSA level over 350 in February and now it's down to 0.67. Thank you Dr. Hale for your caring approach to my healthcare.

Review Analysis
Examining patient feedback reveals diverse experiences at Premier Family Physicians @ Southwest Medical Village. Reviews highlight several key themes, including staff interactions, billing issues, clarity in communication, and appointment availability.
Staff and Front Desk Experience
The feedback on staff interactions presents a mixed picture. While one reviewer praised the team for their supportive and non-judgmental approach, particularly commending an individual staff member for her advocacy and assistance with scheduling, others reported negative experiences. Two reviewers described instances where they faced long wait times in the exam room, one noted waiting up to 30 minutes without any updates. Such experiences may contribute to dissatisfaction among patients seeking timely care.
Billing and Insurance Transparency
Billing practices received divided opinions from patients. One review highlighted concerns over unexpected out-of-network charges for lab work performed during what was assumed to be a preventive visit. The lack of upfront transparency regarding costs led to frustration when the patient received a significant bill without prior notice about network status. In contrast, another review appreciated the clinic for manageable billing processes but also emphasized the importance of clear communication about potential costs involved in tests or procedures.
Clarity of Communication
Communication regarding medical explanations appears to be an area needing improvement at this facility. Multiple reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with how clearly information was provided about their conditions and treatment options. In particular, one reviewer recounted their experience of feeling unheard after requesting additional tests that were ultimately ignored by medical staff during their visit. This lack of thorough communication can erode trust between patients and providers.
Appointment Availability
The availability of appointments has garnered both praise and criticism. One reviewer mentioned successfully securing last-minute appointments due to the team’s flexibility and dedication, indicating that patients may find options accommodating their schedules. However, another reviewer noted frustrations related to excessive waiting periods once arriving for scheduled visits, suggesting that while booking may be straightforward, the actual experience may not meet expectations upon arrival.

The local perspective.
I would not return to this provider due to a lack of transparency around billing. I came in for a routine preventive visit and completed labs based on the office’s direction, with the expectation they would be covered as preventive care. At no point was I informed that the lab being used (CPL) was out-of-network or that I would incur a $250 charge. While patients may technically have the ability to choose a lab, that only works if the patient is clearly informed beforehand that a choice needs to be made and what the implications are. That did not happen here. The lab was selected and processed without any discussion of network status or cost. My insurance has confirmed the claim processed correctly, so this is not an insurance issue. It stems from how the lab work was ordered and communicated. When I raised this concern, the office declined responsibility rather than helping resolve a situation that could have been easily avoided with basic transparency. Patients should not be placed in a position where they unknowingly incur out-of-network charges during a preventive visit. I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions about lab routing before agreeing to testing, or choosing a provider who communicates this more clearly. Given this experience, I’m unfortunately not surprised to see the clinic’s current rating reflected in similar feedback from other patients. I will be seeking care elsewhere. UPDATE: Thank you for your response. However, I want to clarify that I have already been contacted by your team, and during that conversation I was told that no accountability would be taken because I had signed forms acknowledging financial responsibility. While I understand what was signed, that does not change the core issue… the process was misleading and not in the patient’s best interest. At no point was it clearly communicated that I could incur out-of-network charges during what was presented as a routine preventive visit. Patients should not be placed in a position where they unknowingly face unexpected costs due to lack of transparency. I have now spent several hours speaking with multiple individuals, and despite this, no one has been willing to take ownership of the situation or offer a meaningful resolution. Given the circumstances, I am requesting a reasonable compromise in the form of at least a 50% reduction of the bill. I believe this is a fair and appropriate resolution considering the lack of clear communication and the burden this has placed on me. If someone with the authority to address this matter is willing to engage in a constructive resolution, I am open to having that conversation. UPDATE 4/9: Since my last update, no one from the office has followed up or made any effort to address this situation. This lack of communication and accountability only reinforces my original concern around transparency and professionalism. I will be seeking care elsewhere.
If I listened to the doctors and clinicians in this Premier Family Physicians location in Southwest Medical Village, I would not be alive today. I came here 5 year ago for a physical, and I had several symptoms I was concerned about. After the check up they ordered some blood tests (but not for blood based infections). After they received the results they told me there was nothing wrong with me. I asked them to run some more tests, and they ignored me. Desperate, less than a month later I went to Colombia to get a second opinion from a doctor there. I was diagnosed with a severe case of bacterial endocarditis. They gave me antibiotics and life saving surgery. I have trust issues with doctors now, especially in the US. If I were you, I'd pick somewhere else. I tried to move on, but even though this happened 5 years ago I guess I'm still angry about it. I hope this helps.
Was referred by a friend, I gave this clinic two chances to establish care. The first appointment, they kept me waiting in the exam room for 30 minutes, so I went out to reschedule, had a second appointment and the same exact thing happened where I was waiting 20 minutes in the exam room, but this time the bedside manner of the nurse and the staff was atrocious. All the other 1 Star reviews are true.
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for Dr. Shultz and the entire team. (Premier Family) Having been a patient with your practice for over five years, I have consistently received extraordinary care. I am particularly grateful for the team’s patience and dedication, especially during difficult times when managing physical and mental pain. I would like to offer special recognition to Brandy for her exceptional support. She is a remarkable advocate who provides non-judgmental guidance and maintains a consistently positive attitude. Brandy has been instrumental in assisting me with last-minute scheduling and ensuring my prescriptions are managed efficiently. I truly value this team and the support you have provided me through many challenges. I highly recommend Dr. Shultz’s practice to anyone seeking exceptional medical care.
