Came in this morning 5 minuti before my appointment. The clerk desk lady saw me sign in and told me to have a seat. The practice was pretty empty and there was just 1 person sitting waiting to be called in. After 10-15 minutes later 3 other people walked in and sat down, right after another client walked in as well. Long story short: after 20 minutes later all the clients that walked in got attended for their appointments except for me, which no one let me know what was going on. In fact I got up and walked up to the window to ask the desk clerk if there was a mistake with the time of my appointment and her reply was: you will be next. I waited for another little while and then after 20 minutes I left. Ten minutes later after my departure I received a call from the desk clerk saying if I left and my response was yes because I kept waiting there and it seemed to me that no one knew what was going on. My reply was: I’m sorry but I felt that the office was poorly managed cause I kept waiting there and I never got in for my appointments while other people got attended after my arrival. I said no bid deal, it’s fine. She told me that she didn’t know what was happening but I should let the office manager know how I felt and she would connect me with her. The office manager Caroline Mitchell, got on the phone which I explained her the reason why I left. I told her I felt that the office was poorly managed. She got all offended and started to be very self defensive which I stated to her I CAN HAVE my own opinion and that’s why I was expressing those words. She replied with a high tone of voice that all the clients that go there are very happy and that I should look for another place to go to. She also insinuated words out of her own vocabulary that I never said. All I said was: the office was poorly managed which was what I felt while I was there. She started arguing with me that I said they are horrible and bla bla bla bla. I ended up saying thank you and I will take your recommendation to look for another practice. I also asked her for the owners name but at this point it really doesn’t matter cause all I have is. A ad unprofessional taste in my mouth. Miss Mitchell should have never told me if I don’t feel that is the office for me to go to a different place. Wow.

I’m so thankful I went to Deerwood Family Practice for my medical needs. The second I walked in the door I knew this was going to be a good experience. The staff is so friendly & welcoming, and PA Emily Galvan and Virginia were absolutely incredible! The very best part was getting my blood work done. I’m normally filled with trepidation before getting bloodwork as I don’t good veins and I leave with bruises & pain but yesterday 4/01/26 the phlebotomist was spectacular!! She got a vein immediately & I didn’t feel a thing & on course with the rest of the staff incredibly friendly!! I can’t recommend this practice strongly enough!
I am honestly shocked at the bad reviews. My daughter and I have been seeing Shawn for many years and love this practice. She is amazing and so thorough, and her staff have always been friendly and helpful too. I haven’t seen the other providers, but my daughter has, as have friends, and I haven’t heard anything negative. You need a prior authorization? Shawn and her team will go the extra mile!
Deerwood Family Practice was recommended to by my pastor and this place did not disappoint. Everyone that I came in contact with to include their text messaging option was fantastic. You can tell that this office cares for their patients and are unified in making sure each customer is treated with honor, care, compassion and respect. I was very impressed with their service and will be using them definitely in the future.
