Why Cannabis Is Important?

Cannabis sativa is a specie of the Cannabaceae plant family. This is also called as hemp. The other names for Cannabis are grass, Indian hemp, hemp, Hashish, marijuana, Pot, weed, Ganja and reefer. Two of the most popular compounds of Cannabis are CBD and THC. CBD or Cannabidiol is mostly used for medical purposes and does not give that high feeling when taken. There are a lot of CBD products that you can try. On the other hand, the THC or delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol which is supposed to be liable for most of the distinctive psychoactive effects of cannabis.

 The marijuana derives from dried flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant. It can be smoked through a bong, or tube or hand rolled joint. Some people may take it orally in the form of baked food and cookies. Hashish can be extracted of the cannabis plant which can be eaten or smoked.

Industrial hemp uses in textile manufacturing are cultivated by the fiber of the cannabis plant.

Medical Uses:

Two synthetic cannabinoid compounds, dronabinol and nabilone. According to medical sciences, products of Cannabis (Marinol and Cesamet) have many beneficial effects.

Marinol: It is also called dronabinol used for treatment of vomiting and nausea. It occurs due to chemotherapeutic agents used in the medicines of cancer suffering patients. It is also used to improve the appetite of patients suffering from AIDS.

Cesamet: It is also known as nabilone. The way this work is quite similar to Marinol. It also helps the patients with cancer.

Medical Cannabis:

Medical cannabis can be used for the patients suffering from Glaucoma, Cancer, Muscle spasms, pain, seizures, HIV/AIDS, nausea, and cachexia. In 2016, 22 states and District of Columbia allowed the use of cannabis for medical purpose. Though the use of medical cannabis has approved on some states, federal government still regulate its usage.
