Nobody wants to miss work, but getting hurt at work isn’t the time to ignore painful injuries. You need to take legal action for these work-related injuries.
Have you been involved in an accident at work that wasn’t your fault? It can be hard to stay safe when you’re working in a big environment all day long working with other people and doing hard work that involves a lot of strenuous exercises such as heavy lifting.
However, if you work for a company it’s their responsibility to ensure that you stay safe. If you have a work related accident then the chances are it wasn’t your fault. Here’s what you need to know.
1.Back Pain
Do you work in an office or on the computer? Perhaps you have an uncomfortable chair at work that you can’t replace. It’s hard to know what to do in these situations but if you have asked for a more comfortable chair and weren’t offered one then know that any back pain you receive as a result wasn’t your fault.
Sitting in the wrong chair can be bad for your posture and over time you could feel yourself starting to develop a hunchback which could leave you permanently damaged. Avoid back injuries at work as much as you can.
- Neck Ache
Another example of an injury at work that wasn’t your fault is neck ache. If you have a job that involves looking up, perhaps you are a cleaner that regularly has to clean a high shelf, or your job involves inspecting ceilings then you can find that you have a strained neck.
This is not your fault and can lead to you not being able to sleep at night or having discomfort when doing even simple tasks like watching television.
- Broken Arms and Legs
Do you have to climb ladders for your job? If they are not stable or you are not given the right health and safety training, you might find that you end up falling down the ladder and inuring yourself. This is a big problem and you can find yourself with broken bones.
The consequences of this are spending weeks on-and-off in the hospital, covered in bandages. This can be problematic as it can mean you can’t work and will need special arrangements to ensure you can get around safely such as crutches or a wheelchair. The idea of America as an overly litigious society is a myth. With no free medical services like the U.K, you should be sure to sue to get your medical expenses fully covered.
Accessing the court systems is also becoming easier with the onset of online courts and artificaial intelligence.
- Inured by Equipment
If you are using heavy lifting or other specialist equipment at your job then it can be easy to find yourself injured. This is especially true if you haven’t been given the right amount of training.
Some equipment is so dangerous it could even prove fatal, for example, if you work in a radiology department at a hospital where you could be exposed to dangerous levels of radioactivity.
Work Related Injuries Are Not Your Fault
Most work related injuries are not your fault. They are the result of your workplace or employer. While you should take precautions you can sue employees if they have not properly prepared you for employment or using some of the equipment.
