If a sound is 85 decibels or higher, it can cause damage to your hearing. If you’re in an environment with loud noises, the best thing to do is wear hearing protection. If this isn’t an option, try to stay as far as possible from the source of the loud noise.

Just as you schedule regular physicals and dental visits, so too should you schedule regular checkups for your ears.

It’s especially important to get your ears tested as you grow older, as our hearing tends to deteriorate as we age.
